Israel's War on Gaza October 2023 - 2024

Letter to ICC Prosecutor Regarding U.S. Officials' Complicity in Israel's Genocide in Gaza

 

Today, Hikmah – Center for International Law and Human Rights sent a letter to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Mr. Karim Khan KC, requesting to apply ICC’s jurisdiction to U.S. officials complicit in Israel’s crimes in Gaza. The letter was sent to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland as well. The content of the letter details Israel’s atrocious crimes constituting genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes. U.S. officials’ complicity is premised on: a. total ideological identification with Israel and its war; b. constant arms supply and other military assistance throughout Israel’s war on Gaza notwithstanding awareness of its gravely illegal conduct; c. diplomatic cover at the U.N. Security Council; d. opposing applying international law to Israel before the ICJ, the ICC, and other international venues; and e. adherence to Israel’s lobbyists in the United States.

 

The relevant U.S. officials are President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, Commander of United States Army Central Command General Michael Kurilla, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines, and Director of National Security Agency General Timothy Haugh.

Netanyahu's Speech before Congress

Today, Hikmah - Center for International Law and Human Rights sent a letter to four members of the United States Congress who invited Benjamin Netanyahu to give a speech on 24 July 2024. The letter relates to Israel's war on Gaza, its legal consequences to senior American officials, and the problematic standing and advocacy of Israel in the United States. Letter to ICC and Israel Prosecutors 

Today, Hikmah - Center for International Law and Human Rights sent a joint letter to ICC Prosecutor Mr. Karim Khan and Israeli Attorney General Ms. Gali Baharav-Miara. The objective of the letter is to address three issues following the ICC Prosecutor's announcement on 20 May 2024 about applying for arrest warrants in the context of the war in Gaza: the international pressure against the ICC given its engagement with the war in Gaza; the limited accusations against Israeli officials; and missing charges in the Palestine context generally. Ms. Baharav-Miara is a formal addressee of the letter given potential personal legal consequences to her and other senior Israeli officials. The letter is available here:

Letter to Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court

Today, Hikmah - Center for International Law and Human Rights sent a letter to the International Criminal Court's Prosecutor Mr. Karim Khan, KC. The purpose of the letter is to remind the Prosecutor of his obligations under the Court's Statute, Rules, and Regulations given reports in the press about diplomatic and political pressures that he has been subjected to regarding Israel's war on Gaza. In the letter, Hikmah Center also emphasized the problematic nature of the Prosecutor's performance regarding investigating international criminality perpetrated by Israel that falls under the ICC's jurisdiction. Letter to the American Ambassador in Israel

Today, Hikmah - Center for International Law and Human Rights sent a letter to the American ambassador to Israel Mr. Jacob Lew regarding Israel's war on Gaza. The letter underscored Israel's violations of international law that constitute genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes as well as American constant military and diplomatic support to Israel throughout its onslaught against Gaza that could generate legal ramifications for senior American officials. The letter also addressed the problematic American foreign policy toward Palestine shaped by the country's financially unreasonable and ill-informed domestic politics.

Today, Hikmah – Center for International Law and Human Rights sent a letter to Israeli Attorney General Ms. Gali Baharav Miara, informing her of Israel’s international crimes committed during Israel’s war on Gaza titled Operation Swords of Iron that constitute genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes as well as their potential judicial consequences.
